Donald Trump Just Fell Asleep At An Energy Conference: Yeah, You Read That Right.
Let’s just say it: if Joe Biden had fallen asleep at a major conference after babbling incoherently about the Unabomber, it would be the lead story on every channel. Yet, this was different. Why?
Let’s just say it upfront: if President Joe Biden had fallen asleep at a major conference after babbling incoherently about the Unabomber, it would be the lead story on every cable news network, newspaper front page, and social media feed in America for the next month.
But because it was Donald Trump, the media barely whispered about it.
Here’s what went down:
At the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit, Donald Trump took the stage and launched into one of his trademark meandering speeches. But this one wasn’t merely long-winded. It was downright bizarre.
Trump started rambling about the Unabomber—yes, the Unabomber—and claimed that Ted Kaczynski went to MIT. For the record, he didn’t. The Unabomber went to Harvard. Trump also suggested his own uncle had some connection to Kaczynski, weaving an incoherent conspiracy of genius scientists, bombs, and who knows what else.
And then—because that apparently wasn’t enough—Donald Trump sat back down in his chair and fell asleep.
We’re not exaggerating. Video from the event shows Trump with his chin slumped to his chest, eyes fluttering, dozing off in full view of the crowd and cameras.
And somehow, this isn’t the biggest political story in America today.
We’ve spent the last year and a half subjected to a relentless media narrative questioning President Biden’s mental fitness. Every stumble, every pause, every moment of searching for the right word has been magnified into evidence that he was too old, too frail, too confused to serve.
But when Donald Trump—who is only three years younger than President Biden—goes on an unhinged rant about the Unabomber and then literally falls asleep in public, the same pundits who breathlessly cover “Biden Gaffe” stories fall silent.
This is the media double standard we keep talking about.
Here at Democratic Wins Media, we’re not playing by those rules. We don’t answer to corporate sponsors afraid of offending Trump’s base. We’re not funded by billionaire donors who want us to stay polite and neutral in the face of dangerous nonsense.
We call it like it is.
And the facts are these:
Donald Trump is 79 years old. He will be the oldest President of the United States in American history. And he can’t stay awake long enough to make it through a conference designed to showcase America’s energy and innovation future.
The American people deserve to know the truth.
Trump’s defenders will claim he’s high energy, that he’s unstoppable, that he’s the only one with the stamina to take on the job. They love to point to his rallies and speeches as proof he’s sharp and vigorous. But when you peel back the curtain, you get moments like this: a tired, confused man drifting off mid-event after ranting about conspiracy theories and inventing fictional facts about where the Unabomber went to school. He may call his tangents the weave, but the American people see it for what it is: unhinged and senile behavior.
It’s not just embarrassing—it’s alarming.
Because here’s the thing: this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Donald Trump showing real signs that he’s lost a step. His speech patterns have grown more erratic. His stories are increasingly disjointed. He sometimes forgets names, places, even basic details of policy he once championed.
Yet somehow, none of this is ever treated as proof of cognitive decline. Instead, the media shrugs it off as “Trump being Trump.”
It’s exhausting. It’s dishonest. And it’s dangerous.
So let’s be crystal clear:
Donald Trump just fell asleep at an energy conference.
He went on a wild rant about the Unabomber going to MIT (he didn’t). He suggested connections between his uncle and a domestic terrorist. And then he conked out, right there in front of everyone.
If the media won’t cover it, we will.
Because the truth matters. Because leadership matters. Because we can’t afford another four years of a man who can’t stay awake long enough to finish a speech without spiraling into conspiracy-laden nonsense.
It’s time for the media to call a spade a spade. Donald Trump has lost a step.
And the American people deserve to know it.

I don't think the "video clip" is accurately described. Trump is heavy lidded and the lighting is overhead so it appears his eyes are closed. In the other photo where he appears to be asleep at the Pope's funeral is debatable. WHAT SHOULD BE DISCUSSED is Trump's overall incoherent speech and lawless behavior that goes unchecked. These kinds of discussions are not-on-point or ineffective in fighting the real dangers posed by this administration -- the gutting of the Federal Government, subverting Rule of Law and elimination or basic human services the American people deserve. Don't get distracted. Stay focused!
Well, on the plus side. If the donald is asleep he can't sign any EO's or rage tweet.
